The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) Refresher course at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria, is a specialized refresher training program designed for experienced Aeronautical Information Service/Management officers and related personnel.
It aims to update and reinforce knowledge and skills in the collection, processing, verification, and dissemination of aeronautical information essential for the safety and regularity of air navigation, in line with ICAO standards and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) requirements.
The course typically covers updates on regulatory changes, advancements from traditional AIS to Aeronautical Information Management (AIM), quality management of aeronautical data, NOTAM procedures, AIP amendments, digital data processes, and best practices for efficient information flow in a modern aviation environment.
It is offered periodically or on request under NCAT’s Air Traffic Services/Communication School programs, similar to other refresher courses (e.g. Air Traffic Control Refresher or Communication Officer Refresher) to ensure professionals maintain competency amid evolving technologies and standards.
