To enhance the nation’s aviation sector, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barrister Festus Keyamo (SAN), visited the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria today. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to advancing aviation education and infrastructure in Nigeria.
Barr. Keyamo’s visit to NCAT, a premier institution for aviation training in the country, is seen as a strategic effort to assess and boost the college’s capabilities. During his tour, the Minister engaged with the institution’s management, faculty, and students, gaining firsthand insights into the operational challenges and opportunities within the aviation training sector.
Addressing the NCAT community, Barr. Keyamo emphasized the importance of modernizing aviation training facilities to meet global standards. He reiterated the government’s dedication to providing the necessary support to ensure that NCAT remains at the forefront of aviation education in Africa.
“Today’s visit is part of our broader initiative to ensure that Nigeria’s aviation sector is equipped with the best-trained professionals. NCAT has a pivotal role to play in this mission, and we are committed to providing the resources and support needed to elevate its status,” said Barr. Keyamo.
The Minister’s visit included a comprehensive tour of NCAT’s facilities, including the simulation centers, aircraft maintenance workshops, Airport Emergency Training school, New Auditorium, etc.
The Rector of NCAT, Mr. Joseph W. Imalighwe, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit, highlighting its significance for the institution’s future. “This visit is a testament to the government’s recognition of the critical role NCAT plays in the aviation sector. We are encouraged by the Minister’s support and look forward to further advancements in our training capabilities,” said Mr. Imalighwe.
